Kinfolk Studio was born from a simple belief: that home should be a place to slow down.

Not just somewhere you return to, but somewhere you reconnect—with yourself, with the people around you, and with the everyday moments that so often pass us by.

That belief continues to shape everything we create today.

It started with a love of creating

Long before Kinfolk Studio became a business, it began as a curiosity.

We were drawn to making things by hand. To understanding the ingredients, experimenting with fragrance, and discovering how scent could completely transform the feeling of a room.

There was something deeply satisfying about taking raw materials and turning them into something that would become part of somebody else’s home.

Not because it was extravagant.

But because it became part of their everyday life.

A candle lit while reading.

A reed diffuser quietly welcoming guests through the front door.

A room spray used just before friends arrive.

Small rituals that become familiar without us even realising.

Those are the moments that inspired Kinfolk Studio.

Why fragrance?

Scent has an extraordinary ability to evoke memories and emotions.

A single fragrance can remind us of long summer evenings, woodland walks after the rain, fresh flowers in the kitchen or holidays by the coast.

Unlike many things we buy for our homes, fragrance isn’t just something we see.

We experience it.

It quietly shapes the atmosphere of a room long before we notice it consciously.

That’s why every fragrance we develop begins with a feeling rather than a trend.

We don’t start by asking what is fashionable.

We start by asking how we want someone to feel when they walk through the door.

Inspired by Suffolk

We’re fortunate to call Suffolk home.

The coastline, open skies, ancient woodland and changing seasons have a quiet way of slowing you down if you let them.

Some days inspiration comes from walking along the coast before the town wakes.

Other days it’s the scent of damp woodland after rainfall or the warmth of late afternoon sunlight across open fields.

We don’t try to bottle a specific place.

Instead, we try to capture the feeling those places leave behind.

That feeling finds its way into every collection we create.

Handmade, always

In a world where so much is mass-produced, we still believe there’s value in making things carefully.

Every Kinfolk Studio product is created in small batches with attention to detail from beginning to end.

Taking the slower route isn’t always the quickest or the easiest.

But it’s the one that allows us to maintain the quality, consistency and care that matters to us.

For us, craftsmanship isn’t about perfection.
